ZORIA B. KENGOCHA
Zoria Kengocha is a local neighborhood poet of Kenyan descent based in New Jersey. She is currently an English Major student plus an introverted Leo. Writing has always been her haven for her imagination, whether creating short stories or poetry. She believes in creating something beautiful with just a pen and paper. She discovered her talents when she was a child writing stories in her notebook in her bedroom. Reading books was her downtime to unwind and inspiration to create. She was surrounded by a variety of literature From fantasy fiction like Percy Jackson to Shakespeare’s classics such as Macbeth. She released her first poetry collection (e-book) “FruitBasket” which tackled grief, teenage woes, loss, and the beauty of heartbreak. She believes that poetry is way beyond cutesy words with a rhyming scheme on a piece of paper.
She believes that poetry is the color of the blind, the music to the silence. She hopes that literature is at the forefront and that a few pages of a book a day keeps soothing an ignorant soul away.
